I had dinner three times
partly because I can’t say no to food, but mostly because I can’t say no to some people. My mother cooked one of my favourite Javanese food and she said she did it especially for me so I ate a big portion. Ten minutes after my last spoon I received a text message from a dear old family friend, asking me to have dinner with her. I went and order a real meal because she didn’t let...

Why I love Noel and Liam Gallagher
What Noel said
on Liam: He’s the man who put the “tit” in “attitude”.
on Pop Idol: The side of it I love is when the winner finally realises that he’s just a fat idiot from a supermarket who got lucky and so turns to alcohol and ends up killing his own gerbils - that’s brilliant.
on Liam’s songwriting: He’s not as good as John Lennon....

Adebayor is officially a Real Madrid player →
realmadriddaily:
Emmanuel Adebayor is the most recent player to sign for Real Madrid. The 26-year old is already a Premier League veteran and an icon of his native Togo. It isn’t the first time that the 2008 African Player of the Year joins a team in the winter transfer market. He signed for Arsenal in January 2006 and in only 21 minutes of his first match with the Gunners scored his first goal....

Pope praises social networks →
The pope also said the Web can be used to spread the Gospel in a “respectful and discreet form” that “stirs hearts and moves consciences.”

Uh oh! Someone wrote something stupid and I saw it!
First of all, I feel bad for even re-posting this, because imagine how you’d feel if you wrote something stupid and then more people than you know personally saw it and judged you for it. And you had to go back and write some kind of disclaimer...

me: So I've listed some literary character names starting with 'A' for the puppies. For the males I have Aragorn, Atticus, Alceste, Archer, Arkady...
cousin: Aro.
me: What? Arrow?
cousin: No, Aro. A-R-O.
me: That's cool, where do you get it from?
cousin: Twilight.
me: Hahahahahahahaha.
cousin: I'm serious.
me: Okay, no Twilight names, please. How about Alex from A Clockwork Orange? But then it's too common.
cousin: It's okay. There is also a character in Twilight named Alex or something like it.
me: Okay, no more suggestions from me.

Whining about my academic life
The translation of the message from my academic advisor above: “Lisa, are you sure about taking three foreign languages this semester? Isn’t there any other subject that you need to take?
The answer is: I only have to take one more compulsory subject. I could have taken it two years ago, but thanks to your wishy-washy curriculum, I have to spend another six months doing basically...
unbindingme asked: You are given a choice of the following answers to be given to you. Which do you choose and why? You can know when you will die. You know where to find the person that will love you like you need. You can know where are the people that need you the most. You can know whether or not there is an afterlife.

I’ve been getting a lot of warm responses regarding my pit bull posts, so thank you everyone!
Today I’m back to the shelter, I’ll send your kisses and hugs to our furry three/four-legged friends.

thank you for sticking up for pitbulls! more needs to be done to dispel the awful stereotypes about pitties. my dog is a staffordshire terrier mix, and i completely agree with what you’ve written here.
Yay! Go pit bulls! Haha.
Haters to the left.

So yesterday was my first day working as a volunteer at a dog shelter. It was great, better than I expected actually. My friends and I were told that our job basically was to walk some dogs, kind and friendly ones because we’re newbies and those guys were not familiar with us.
Above is the picture of Bucok (strange name, I know), a female pit bull that was my ‘first dog’. When...

This is Penny Lane. She’s my pet in Pet Society, a Flash based game developed by Playfish. I used to play this game everyday, it was pretty popular long before that other developer came up with the phenomenal FarmVille. I didn’t play FarmVille because at first, I simply didn’t like the graphic. Then again everyone seemed to talk about it and I receive a lot of annoying invitations and gifts...

I think saying that the growing popularity of 7-Eleven in Jakarta is similar to a pandemic disease is an understatement. Since it’s opening in 2009 here, 7-Eleven has been the new frozen yoghurt outlet. All day (and night) each store is stuffed by a bunch of teenagers who buy a Slurpee and stay for hours.
Yesterday I went out to grab something to eat. It was past midnight so a 24 hour...

Lorem Ipsum Dol-- oh SHUT UP.

Hey look, the internet is fighting about typography! Something about double-spaces after periods this time? Again? And we all know what happens when the internet fights about typography, right? Typography nerds write really long-winded blog posts in which they all show off their exhaustive knowledge of the printing press then work in some nitpicky rants about “kerning” or some shit...

Oui, je parle français. Mais un peu.
Tomorrow I’m going to spend the day with some French people. Hopefully they understand that the sentence above actually means: “Please don’t say anything too complicated unless it’s really important.”
Wish me luck.

I don't normally do this
But based on experience, I think that Recommended Blogs section on our dashboard is invisible, plus it doesn’t appear everytime, so here are some blogs I enjoy a lot personally:

This guy writes in a very simple, honest, and organized way. He’s funny without realizing it (I think) and one of very few people that makes that 30 Day Challenge thingy worth my time.

rubenfeld replied to your post: I’ve come to a conclusion that people can post…
One point I’d argue: Some people use Tumblr/Twitter/Facebook to find those interesting and insightful things.
That also came to my mind. Therefore, I should add “Follow more insightful social networking/blogging platforms” to my Post-it note. :D

I’ve come to a conclusion that people can post original interesting/insightful things on their blog because when they use the Internet, they actually visit some sites other than celebrity gossip blogs, Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, or any social networking/blogging platform for that matter.
I should write this on a Post-it note and stick it to my computer monitor.

Today I got a letter from some kind of a “committee” in the neighborhood. It says that starting January 2011, there will be a two hour aerobic session every Wednesday and Saturday in the park and everyone is invited.
I think going to the gym once a week and occasionally playing badminton on weekends are not exactly an ideal workout routine, so the idea really meets my need. Then I got...

James Franco May Want to Adapt William Faulkner... →
Now comes the news that the actor may be in talks to direct a William Faulkner classic from his own screenplay, ‘As I Lay Dying.’ He’s also apparently working out a deal to tackle Cormac McCarthy’s ‘Blood Meridian’ in 2012. Showbiz411 had the scoop that Franco and his manager have the backing of Fox Searchlight to bring the Faulkner tale to the big screen....

Commented on my friend’s (who’s apparently Facebook famous) Facebook status.
Nodded when my dad asked whether I have a Twitter so he can follow me.
